Gehlot government's big decision: Now EWS and MBC will get 5 percent reservation in Rajasthan Judicial Service


The Rajasthan government has taken a big decision regarding reservation in judicial service in Rajasthan. The Gehlot government has provided a 5% reservation for EWS and MBC classes in place of one percent in judicial service. The Department of Personnel has also released its official notification.

Now, candidates of EWS and MBC category in judicial service will get more opportunities for an appointment. The amendment to the Judicial Service Rules, 2010 was approved by the State Cabinet after the announcement of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

Under the amendment, the provision of the committee has also been made in the rules for the interview examination of the candidates. The committee will have two serving judges of the High Court besides a professor of law. All nominations will be made by the Chief Justice of the High Court.

Let us tell you that the State Cabinet approved the amendment in the Rajasthan Judicial Service Rules, 2010 to give a 5 percent reservation in place of one percent to the candidates of the Backward Classes including Gurjars in the state. Through this amendment, the candidates belonging to OBCs will get a 5 percent reservation in Rajasthan Judicial Service instead of one percent under this amendment.

The state cabinet had approved the amendment in the rules for five percent reservation in Rajasthan Judicial Service to the candidates belonging to the OBCs, including Gurjars. Candidates belonging to the most backward classes have been demanding amendments in the judicial service rules for a long time so that they can get a 5 percent reservation in the state judicial service.
